Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
How the ChangeTextImage Chrome extension handles right-click image URLs, permissions, and user controls.
Extension purpose
The Chrome extension provides one user-facing shortcut: right-click a web image and open that selected image in ChangeTextImage so you can replace visible text in the image.
Data handled by the extension
When you click the context menu item, the extension opens ChangeTextImage with the selected image URL in the page address. The extension itself does not collect browsing history, read all page content, store selected image URLs, run analytics, or send data to advertising networks.
Permissions
The extension uses the contextMenus permission to show one right-click action on images. It does not request broad website access, host permissions, tab-reading permission, content scripts, screenshot access, clipboard access, or browsing-history access for the current shortcut flow.
Image URL import
When the ChangeTextImage website receives the selected image URL, it validates the URL and tries to fetch a PNG, JPEG, or WebP copy up to 10 MB so the image can load into the editor. Some source websites block direct image imports. If import fails, save the image and upload it manually.
Editing flow after import
After an image is imported into the editor, generation uses the same website workflow described in the main Privacy Policy: uploaded images, optional masks, requested text changes, generated outputs, account credits, and history metadata are handled only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and support the image text editing service.
Limited use and sharing
Selected image URLs and imported images are used only for the extension shortcut, image import, editing workflow, security, support, legal compliance, and service reliability. They are not sold, used for personalized advertising, transferred to data brokers, used for creditworthiness or lending decisions, or used for unrelated profiling.
Retention and security
The extension does not store selected image URLs or images locally. The website removes the imageUrl address parameter after import succeeds or fails in the browser. Import responses use no-store caching headers. Server security or error logs may temporarily include request metadata or source host information under the retention practices described in the main Privacy Policy. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
User controls
You control when the extension runs by choosing the right-click menu item. You can uninstall the extension at any time from Chrome extension settings, ignore the shortcut, or save and upload an image manually instead.
